Comedian Todd Glass appeared Thursday
on Comedy Central's The Daily Show, where he told host Jon
Stewart about his coming out of the closet, or as he called it
“busting out of the shed.”
Glass was on the show to promote his
new memoir The
Todd Glass Situation.
In
the book, Glass discusses his decision to come out at the age of
48 and the reactions he received from his comedy pals, including
Louis CK and Sarah Silverman.
“As I'm promoting the book I'm
talking about it,” Glass told Stewart. “But before I didn't want
to come out because I was really afraid it would become my identity.
And I didn't want it to become my identity, which it hasn't.”
On keeping his sexuality a secret,
Glass said he had more stories about his girlfriend than men who have
girlfriends.
“But they were true stories. I just
switched the sex. Which proves that relationships are the same,”
he said.
