Queen drummer Roger Taylor has said
that the reception to Adam Lambert fronting Queen has been “fantastic
everywhere.”
Taylor, Lambert and guitarist Brian May
are gearing up for a series of European dates after touring North
America and Australia this year. The Queen + Adam Lambert European
tour kicks off January 13 in the United Kingdom and includes stops in
Paris, Berlin and Milan.
In speaking to Billboard
about several upcoming solo projects (Roger
Taylor: best, The
Lot), Taylor said the
upcoming European tour “will be interesting for Adam, because I
think he's more known in the States and places like Australia than he
is in Europe.”
“But it's been fantastic everywhere,”
he added. “Every night, every place we went, the reception was
tremendous and that was a delightful surprise just to think that
after all these years we can still go out and do it. But it was
great with Adam, I have to say. He really fitted in beautifully.”
Taylor added that a collaboration with
Lambert on new music is a possibility.
“I think it would be a very
interesting experiment,” he said. “It would be nice to just go
in and see what came out. I don't know if it would be an album or
anything, but I think it's too good a marriage to just let it go at
touring. I'm sure we'll do something. His voice is so
extraordinary, and it's a beautiful instrument. I think it would be
nice.”
