The Utah gay couple behind a heartwarming marriage proposal in a Home Depot lumber aisle met Betty Who on Thursday.
Betty Who performed Somebody Loves You, the song used to help Spencer Stout propose to Dustin Reese, on VH1's Big Morning Buzz.

Stout explained how he decided on the track.
“So I was listening to Spotify on my way home from work one day,” Stout said. “It was a really catchy tune and I thought it was great because I had never heard it before. And then I put it on my favorites and then I listened to it over and over again. I was just like, 'This song rocks! I love it. It's great.' And then the lyrics just kinda … resonated and get to that minimum where I was like, 'I think I'm ready to put a ring on his finger.'”
Betty Who said that she wept openly when she first saw the video of the marriage proposal.
“I was totally a wreck, and so emotional. It was totally amazing,” she said.
Stout and Reese watched the performance from backstage and afterward gave Betty Who a hug. (Video of Betty Who's performance is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
