Target's #takepride Campaign Includes More Than Merchandise

Target on Monday unveiled its Gay Pride campaign with an 80-second video.
In the video, a female narrator says, “We're not born with pride. We take pride. Pride in celebrating who we were born to be,” over images of young girls and boys. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
In a press release announcing its #takepride campaign, Target adds: “Those are the powerful words we at Target want all guests and team members – of every size, color, gender and sexual orientation – to hear as we head into Pride month this week.”
“But let us be clear: to Target, pride doesn't just start and end in June, it is a year-round commitment.”
The Minnesota-based retailer said that its campaign includes support for Pride parades, events and, of course, merchandise, which can be found at its online #takepride shop.
Notable in its offerings are a rainbow-colored power bank for mobile devices, Pride inspired cases for the Samsung Galaxy 5 and the Apple iPhone 6, and a tumbler with the slogan “love is love.”
