Brazilian actor Bruno Gagliasso says
that he kissed fellow actor Joao Vicente de Castro on live television
to protest homophobia.
Gagliasso and De Castro locked lips
during the GQ Men of the Year Awards 2015 at the Copacabana Palace in Rio
de Janeiro on Thursday.
“It was a kiss of hope, of love,”
Gagliasso, 33, told Quem
(Who).
“[It was] to show that we are working against intolerance,
small-mindedness and hypocrisy.”
He shared a photo of the kiss on
Instagram. In the caption, he
wrote, “To card-carrying male chauvinists, hypocrites and
bigots. … Our affection and our love for men with H,” a reference
to masculine men.
Gagliasso is married to Giovanna
Ewbank. De Castro is a co-founder of the Brazilian video production
company Porta dos Fundos (Back Door).
