Jason Bellini is out at Logo's news show. And by out, we mean replaced by Ross Palombo.
The dashing Palombo made his first appearance as host on the Thursday online edition of the show – which is dedicated to covering GLBT news for the cable channel – but his move to the gay news show has long been rumored.
Bellini, who has served as host for several years, filed his last report from Beijing, where he was covering stories about out athletes competing at the Olympics.
Palombo is a seasoned journalist from San Antonio, Texas where he co-anchored a weekend newscast on the local CBS affiliate, KENS. He also worked as the lead reporter for KRON and KGO in San Francisco. There he covered a wide variety of stories, from earthquakes to celebrity profiles of Michael Jackson and Governor Arnold Schwartzenegger. Palombo has received a total of five Emmy Awards, an Associated Press Award, and various other journalistic honors.
More changes at the show include a new name for the Thursday broadcast: 365gay News powered by CBS news. The new name gives more weight to Logo's sister website 365gay.com, where viewers can also catch the show.
