More than 200 people gathered near Istanbul's Taksim Square on Sunday to protest the murder of Hande Kader, a transgender woman.
Kader's mutilated and burned body was found on August 8 in the city's high-end Zekeriyakoy neighborhood.
Kader, 22, led a protest in June against the government's decision to ban Istanbul's annual LGBT Pride march.
According to Turkish daily Sabah, Kader, a sex worker, was last seen getting into a client's car in late July.
Carrying banners which read “justice for Hande Kader” and “trans lives matter,” the protesters vowed to not rest until Kader's killer is found. The protest was closely monitored by riot police.
Aljazeera reported that 41 transgender and gender diverse people were killed in Turkey between January 2008 and December 2015, the highest rate in Europe.
