Sia and Kendrick Lamar on Monday
released a video for their new single The Greatest, which is
reportedly a tribute to the 49 people killed in a mass shooting in an
Orlando gay nightclub in June.
The video opens with dancer Maddie
Ziegler crying rainbow tears.
She is accompanied by 49 dancers,
which is said to represent those killed at the Pulse nightclub in
Orlando.
In an Instagram post, Matt Moseley, one
of the dancers in the video, captioned an image from the video with
“49 beautiful lives lost. This is for you.”
In the video's final frames, Ziegler
comes to rest on a pile of bodies, the wall behind them riddled with
bullet holes.
