Danny Pintauro, who played Jonathan
Bower for 8 seasons on Who's the Boss?, is engaged to
boyfriend Wil Tabares.
According to celebrity glossy Us
Weekly, the couple got engaged earlier this week during a
trip to Palm Springs to celebrate their one-year anniversary
together.
Tabares popped the question over
dinner.
“He made a video, and in the video
held up the box [with the ring],” Pintauro
told Us. “I looked up and he had it in his hand.”
“He said yes!” Tabares posted on
Facebook.
The men, who currently live and work in
Las Vegas, cannot marry in Nevada, ironically a wedding destination
for many Americans.
“We live in a state, Nevada, that
does not yet allow same-sex marriage,” Pintauro said. “Our plan
is to move to California once Prop 8 is overturned.”
Proposition 8 is the voter-approved
constitutional amendment which overrode a California Supreme Court
ruling legalizing marriage equality in the state. It is currently
before the U.S. Supreme Court.
“Wil is the best, and I couldn't be
happier to spend the rest of our lives together,” Pintauro added.
Pintauro, who came out in 1997,
returned to television two years ago after an 18 year absence, making
guest appearances on ABC Family's
The Secret Life of the American Teenager and
Comedy Central's Laugh
Track Mash-Ups.
