Actor Dean Cain says he can't
understand why gay marriage is an issue.
During an appearance on HuffPost
Live, the 46-year-old Cain was asked whether playing gay in
the 2000 film The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy
affected him on the issue of marriage equality.
“Me, no,” answered Cain, who is
best known for playing the “Man of Steel” on Lois & Clark:
The New Adventures of Superman. “Listen, I'm 46 years old.
I've never been married. If anybody wants to get married, go ahead.
Rock and roll.”
“I understand. I have a lot of gay
friends,” he added. “I can't understand why it's an issue. For
me, it's a non-issue.”
“But doing the Broken Hearts Club,
that was my feeling to begin with. It never has been an issue for
me.”
Dean, a registered Republican who
reportedly backed Mitt Romney for president last year, will next be
seen in the VH1 series Hit The Floor.
