Filipina singer and former Glee
co-star Charice Pempengco says she knew she was gay at 5.
In a sneak peek of Sunday's Where
Are They Now? host Oprah Winfrey asks Pempengco, who came out
last year, when she knew she was lesbian.
“So when did you know?” Winfrey
asked.
“I knew when I was 5,” Pempengco
told Winfrey. “Yes, I was in grade school and I saw this girl and
I felt different. I didn't know what it was, but I just knew that …
like it felt special.”
“And when I was 10, I was like, 'Oh,
that's it, I'm gay.' Like I found the word.”
The 22-year-old Pempengco also
addressed rumors of a gender transition.
“Basically, my soul is like male.
But I'm not going to go through that stage where I change everything.
Not change my body. … I'll cut my hair and wear boy clothes and
everything, but that's all,” she said, a reference to her new look.
The interview airs Sunday on cabler
OWN.
