Former NSync member Lance Bass has
revealed that he initially said “no” to an E! special documenting
his wedding to Michael Turchin.
Bass and Turchin, an aspiring actor and
model, married last month in Los Angeles, after getting engaged in
New Orleans in September, 2013.
E! contacted the couple with the idea
for a wedding special the night Bass proposed.
“We immediately said, 'Hell no.
There is no way [we] would do this,' but we came around really
quickly,” Bass told The
Clarion-Ledger. “After we thought about it for a few
hours, we knew this could be something really big and special for the
LGBTQ community around the world.”
The wedding special, titled Lance
Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding, will make history as the
first such special between two men when it airs February 5. The
special follows Bass as he visits friends and family in Mississippi
and features an NSync “mini reunion.”
“It's a mini reunion,” said Bass.
“Unfortunately, Justin [Timberlake] wasn't able to make it; he was
stuck in Atlanta on tour. Four of us [JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris
Kirkpatrick and Bass] were there, and we had a grand old time. And
yes, we even did a little Bye, Bye, Bye.”
