The Christian conservative group One
Million Moms is threatening to boycott Campbell's Soup over an ad
which features a gay couple and their son.
In the 30-second spot, real-life dads
David Monahan and Larry Sullivan are seen feeding their son “Star
Wars” soup.
Sullivan recites one of the films
franchise's most famous lines, “I am your father,” then Monahan
adds, “No, no. I am your father.”

Soup ad features real-life gay dads, son.)
The ad is part of Campbell's “Made
for Real, Real Life” campaign, which features a diverse mix of
American families.
In an email to supporters, One Million
Moms said that Campbell's Soup was “glorifyng this unnatural
marriage.”
“One Millions Moms believes family is
based on love, but this does not justify normalizing sin. 1MM does
not agree with the need for Campbell's to support same-sex marriage
or couples,” the group said. “This is a marketing decision
Campbell's will regret.”
“There is concern about the way this
ad is pushing the LGBT agenda, but an even greater concern is the way
that they are attempting to redefine 'family' and 'real marriage.'”
One Million Moms called on supporters
to urge Campbell's Soup to “pull this inappropriate commercial
immediately and remain neutral in the culture war.”
