Christian conservative Linda Harvey on
Tuesday lamented the dwindling shopping options for activists such as
herself who boycott pro-LGBT businesses.
In a WND.com column, Harvey, president
of the Columbus-based Mission America, said that the list of
“family-friendly” businesses is shrinking.
“Well, it's that time again – time
to get out the Christmas list and start hitting the stores,” Harvey
wrote. “The problem is – what stores? For any Christian who
wants to spend hard-earned dollars with family-friendly,
Christian-affirming retailers, restaurants and service providers, the
list is growing shorter all the time.”
Harvey called on readers to boycott
LGBT-friendly retailers such as Macy's, Target, Walmart and JCPenney
and not purchase products from Mattel, Levi-Strauss and General
Mills. Amazon, Google and Facebook should also be avoided, she said.
“But let's remember: No one is born
homosexual; the Bible is clear about this sin, and God hasn't changed
His mind. Think about the grave harm homosexuality is doing to
American culture, to our schools, to our freedoms, to our churches,”
Harvey said.
“Let's do what we can to honor the
standards of Christ during the celebration of His birthday,” she
concluded.
