The message behind a new Famous
Footwear commercial that features two dads is that family matters
most.
The 30-second spot, titled Family
dinner, a time to reconnect, shows one dad collecting electronics
from family members before they sit down to share a meal.
“Time to put away the digital
distractions and reconnect with what matters most … family,” the
ad's description reads.
Other American companies that recently
have featured LGBT families in their commercials include Campbell's
Soup and a holiday ad from Kohl's.
Campbell's ad attracted the most
attention, including threats of a boycott by One Millions Moms, which
said that the ad “glorifies unnatural marriage.” People
magazine included the real-life dads who appear in the ad in its
annual
list of sexiest men alive.
