Thursday's Kiss-Cam at the Los Angeles
Kings game against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Staples Center
featured a gay couple.
Brad Parr and Andy Evans shared a sweet
smooch as the camera was turned on them, drawing cheers from the
crowd.
“It was a particularly sweet night
since the Kings were playing and beat my hometown Toronto,” Parr
told LGBT
sports blog Outsports.
“My parents and siblings live in LA, but the rest of my family
think I am a terrible traitor for being a Kings fan; I've lived in LA
for 17 years.”
The men are believed to be the first
same-sex couple to appear on a Kiss-Cam at an NHL game and only the
second time that a gay couples has appeared on a Kiss-Cam at a major
league sporting event. Last year, a gay couple was featured on the
Los
Angeles Dodgers' Kiss-Cam.
The couple competed in 4 triathlons
last year and are
currently raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's
Team in Training at the 2016 Lavaman Triathlon.
