At a rally Sunday in support of Senator
Ted Cruz's presidential campaign, Duck Dynasty star Phil
Robertson called marriage equality “evil” and “wicked.”
“Don't you understand that when a
fellow like me looks at the landscape and sees the depravity, the
perversion – redefining marriage and telling us that marriage is
not between a man and a woman?” Robertson
told the cheering crowd. “Come on Iowa! It's nonsense. It is
evil. It's wicked. It's sinful.”
“And they want us to swallow it, you
say? We have to run this bunch out of Washington, D.C. We have to
rid the Earth of them,” he added. “Ted Cruz loves God. He loves
James Madison. And he's a strict constitutionalist.”
In 2014, cable network A&E briefly
suspended the reality star for saying that gay sex was an illogical
“sin” and putting it in the same category as bestiality and
promiscuity.

Cruz praised Robertson as an
“extraordinary human being.”
“What a voice Phil has to speak out
for the love of Jesus,” Cruz
is quoted as telling the crowd.
