Christian conservative Sandy Rios has
called on followers to boycott businesses such as Target that support
transgender rights or risk a push to “legalize and mainstream
pedophilia.”
The American Family Association (AFA)
official made her comments in the course of interviewing Andrea
Lafferty of the Traditional Values Coalition.
Lafferty called on school districts to
ignore guidelines from the Obama administration advising them to
allow transgender students to use the bathroom of their choice.
Rios suggested that the push for
transgender rights was part of a plot by gay rights activists to
“create chaos” and “tear down all the social norms.”
“They look for discrimination
everywhere and they are just pursuing every area they can,” Rios
told her radio listeners. “And they're equating, of course,
transgenderism and homosexuality with race in many cases and some of
them are certainly advocates for the radical homosexual left as
well.”
Both called on listeners to “take
action” against companies such as Target that support transgender
rights because “if we don't now, I think … that the next push
will be to legalize and mainstream pedophilia.”
“That's not a guess,” Rios
said. “It's not just a, 'Gee, what do I think?' This is what
the radical left sexual activists have been planning for a long
time.”
