Out actors Lea DeLaria and Alan Cumming
are in Israel this week to help celebrate LGBT Pride.
DeLaria and Cumming were named this
year's Pride ambassadors for Tel Aviv Pride. The city's annual
parade takes place this weekend.
“There are apparently no ugly women
in Israel,” DeLaria, who plays a lesbian inmate nicknamed Big Boo
on the Netflix prison drama Orange
is the New Black, told Ynet.
“I'm here really to support and
celebrate the LGBT people of Israel,” Cumming, who is best known
for playing Eli Gold, a campaign strategist who is Jewish, on CBS'
The Good Wife, told the AP. “And the right and respect that
they have in this country.”
DeLaria and Cumming are also being
honored by TLVFest, the Tel Aviv International LGBT Film Festival.
