Out British actor Russell Tovey will
join the cast of ABC's Quantico in a role created especially
for him when the show returns for its second season in the fall.
According to The Hollywood Reporter,
Tovey will play Harry Doyle. Described as “a mischievous
gadabout,” Doyle is “just as likely to seduce your husband as he
is to pick his pocket when it's over.”
“Ever since being introduced to him
in The History Boys 10 years ago, I've hoped to work with
Russell,” showrunner Josh Safran told The Hollywood Reporter.
“It's been an honor for the writers and myself to be able to
create this role specifically for him.”
The 34-year-old Tovey first played gay
in HBO's Looking, which ends its run July 23 with a made for
television movie.
