Two gay cops made very public
pronouncements of their love during Saturday's London Pride Parade.
According to the UK's Independent,
both men said yes.
One officer proposed to his boyfriend
as he stood in the crowd. Getting down on one knee, the cop held up
the parade as he reached over the metal barricade to propose to his
boyfriend. The couple kissed as those around them tossed confetti.
The Metropolitan Police LGBT Network
also tweeted a photo of two cops getting engaged as they marched in
the parade. Paradegoers can be seen in the background cheering on
the two men.
“A gay police officer proposed to his
bf right in the middle of the parade and I'm actually crying,” a
witness tweeted.
According to the BBC, more than 40,000
people participated in the 43rd annual march through
central London, including more than 100 police officers.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan was among the
thousands who marched in Saturday's parade.
