Out actor Daniel Franzese has joined
the cast of ABC's upcoming legal drama Conviction.
According to Deadline Hollywood,
Franzese will play Jackson Morrison, who was played in the pilot by
Daniel DiTomasso.
In the show, Hayley Atwell plays Hayes
Morrison, the brilliant daughter of a former president who was
pressured into running New York's Conviction Integrity Unit.
“She and her team of lawyers,
investigators and forensic experts work together to examine cases
where there's credible suspicion that the wrong person might have
been convicted of a crime,” Deadline
wrote of the show's premise.
Franzese's Jackson is described as
“equal parts brother and best friend” to Hayes. He runs his
mother's senate campaign.
Franzese was last seen on HBO's gay
drama Looking, which ended after two seasons with a
feature-length film last month.
