The American Foundation for AIDS
Research (amfAR) will honor Charlize Theron and Jeffrey Katzenberg at
its upcoming Inspiration Gala.
Katzenberg, the CEO of DreamWorks
Animation, is being recognized for his work on behalf of AIDS Project
Los Angeles, a non-profit organization “dedicated to improving the
lives of people affected by HIV/AIDS disease, reducing the incidence
of HIV infection, and advocating for fair and effective HIV-related
public policy.”
Media executive Barry Diller will
present the award.
Theron is being recognized for her work
fighting against HIV/AIDS among African youth. The actress founded
the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project in 2007.
Late night host Chelsea Handler will
present the award.
The black tie event takes place
Thursday, October 27 at Los Angeles' Milk Studios on North Cahuenga
Boulevard.
