Apple Computer spokesman and actor
Justin Long (Drag Me To Hell) marries screenwriter and
sometimes actor Mike White (Buck & Chuck) in a new short
film produced to support the repeal of California's anti-gay marriage
ban, Proposition 8.
In the short, Devin (played by Long)
and Glenn get gay married. Their wedding day is special and they are
seen enthusiastically diving into their honeymoon. The couple
appears blissful.
But marriage settles in and soon the
former happy couple is seen bickering and slowly growing apart.
Glenn comes home one day to find Devin
eating a hamburger instead of waiting for him to cook.
“I was hungry,” Devin says.
“OK, well, I'm going to the gym after
this if you want to come,” Glenn says.
“What is that suppose to mean?”
Devin asks.
“Nothing … it just means I'm going
to the gym.”
“OK, well,” Devin says with a look
of disgust, “I'm going to watch my shows so I can't.”
The relationship continues to devolve
until one day the pair run into a happy male gay couple in the
parking lot of a grocery store.
“If you disagree with the homosexual
lifestyle,” a male announcer says, “support overturning Prop 8
and make them get married. Like the rest of us.”
Also starring in the film are Tom
Arnold and Norah Dunn as the obnoxious in-laws.
The Overturn
Prop 8, Make Homosexuals Marry campaign is behind the film,
which was written and directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon and
financed entirely through donations, the Huffington Post reported.
