Trevor Donovan, Michael Steger or Matt
Lanter will play gay this fall on the CW's nighttime teenage drama
90210, Entertainment Weekly reported.
The coming out story line will be
pursued when the kids from West
Beverly Hills High return for their third season in the fall.
Last year, Jessica Lowndes' character
of Adrianna had a brief romantic affair with Gia (played by Rumer
Willis) as the girls worked alongside each other at the school's
student-run newspaper, the Blaze News.
Co-Executive Producer Jennie Urman says
this new gay story line will be “real and relatable,” unlike
Adrianna's angst-fueled trial run.
A majority of people (59%) responding
to a poll at gay
entertainment website After Elton say Trevor Donovan's character
of Teddy is the most likely hunk to come out gay.
Teddy is currently attached to Silver
(Jessica Stroup), who turned the all-American boy-next-door jock from
a ladies man into a sappy romantic last year.
“How long can he stand living a lie?”
celebrity blog Hollywood
Life asked. “This golden boy is going to crack, mark our
words.”
But also in the running are Matt
Lanter's bad boy character of Liam and Michael Steger's romantic
Navid.
“Navid can't possibly be gay – he's
the obvious choice,” Hollywood Life said.
The new season of 90210
premieres September 13 on the CW.
