Three openly gay Hollywood stars
received People's Choice Awards nods as nominations were announced
Tuesday.
Gay dad Neil Patrick Harris, who
welcomed twins last month, received two nominations. Harris is
nominated for Favorite TV Comedy Actor. The 37-year-old actor plays
womanizer Barney Stinson on the CBS hit comedy How I Met Your
Mother. A guest spot on the Fox musical-comedy Glee also
earned him a Favorite TV Guest Star nomination.
In the Favorite TV Actress category,
Jane Lynch will compete against Alyson Hannigan, Courtney Cox, Eva
Longoria Parker and Tina Fey. The
recently gay married Lynch plays coach Sue Sylvester on Glee.
Openly lesbian Ellen DeGeneres is
nominated for Favorite Talk Show Host. She'll compete against
Chelsea Handler, Conan O'Brien, George Lopez and Oprah Winfrey.
Gay icon and comedienne Kathy Griffin
has receive a nomination in the Favorite TV Guilty Pleasure category
for her hit reality show My Life On The D-List, which airs on
bisexual
cabler Bravo.
Two gay-inclusive shows, Glee and
ABC's comedy hit Modern Family, are competing in the Favorite
TV Comedy category.
