Actress Chloe Sevigny says she is
'flattered' by a recurring series of videos spoofing her fashionable
image.
The videos feature openly gay actor
Drew Droege impersonating Sevigny, who stars in HBO's Mormon polygamy
drama Big Love.
In the videos, Droege, dressed in drag
as Sevigny, says, “Good evening America, I'm Chloe Sevigny,” and
goes on to portray Sevigny as a humorless fashionista who takes
herself a bit too seriously.
In Comedy, Droege says, “It's
recently come to my attention that I love comedy. I was made aware
of this discovery last Thursday at the Kinder Chaos coffee dance and
awards party, sponsored by Timex, Mountain Dew Code Red, and
Marmaduke, now in theaters.”
Sevigny, a former model, told
Entertainment
Weekly that she doesn't see the likeness but was flattered by
the videos.
“I feel like he doesn't dress like
me, he doesn't talk like me,” she said. “I feel like there's
zero connection. I don't even understand how he can say it's me.
And then the things he references are so not me.” (The video is
embedded in the right panel of this page.)
Sevigny, who recently met Droege,
added: “He was very charming and very nervous. He thought I hated
him. Of course not! I'm flattered. But it's just not me at all!”
