Actress Jennifer Aniston suggests in a
The Ellen DeGeneres Show segment to be broadcast on Thursday
that she convinced celebrity blogger Perez Hilton to stop outing gay
celebs, gay
glossy The Advocate reported.
The 41-year-old Aniston, best know for
her portrayal of Rachel Green on the long-running NBC sitcom Friends,
stars opposite Saturday Night Live alum Adam Sandler in the romantic
comedy Just Go With It,
to be released on February 11.
Aniston told DeGeneres that she once
pulled Hilton aside in a parking garage and asked him, “Why are you
so mean?”
“So I pulled up and we were sort of
scoping each other out as I was pulling the car up. I just rolled
down the window and I was like, Hi.' And he went, 'Hi.' We stood
there like two deer in headlights. And I just said, 'Come here. Just
talk to me for a second.' It was one of those great moments.”
In October, Hilton, who had previously
outed Neil Patrick Harris, star of CBS' How I Met Your Mother,
and Lance Bass, the former 'NSYNC member, announced he was turning over a
new leaf.
The openly gay Hilton, 32, told
DeGeneres: “I want to be able to continue to speak out on the gay
bullying and the teen suicides and I want to be able to go to the
rallies and the marches like I have been in the past and not have
people in my own community feel ashamed about me or embarrassed.”
Other celebrities, including Khloe
Kardashian, had accused the blogger of bullying them.
