David Graham, the first openly gay
housemate on the Australian version of Big Brother, plans to
wed his boyfriend Michael Cauchi in New York, The
Daily Telegraph reported.
Graham told his housemates that he was
gay on the fourth day of the 2006 season of the reality series, and
was evicted on the 99th day, the day before the show's
finale. The next year, the competed in Seven Network's Dancing
with the Stars. He and professional dancing partner Eliza
Campagna were the sixth pair to be eliminated. Graham currently
raises organic sheep on his farm in North Queensland, Australia.
The 31-year-old celebrity farmer, known
as Farmer Dave, and Cauchi, also 31, became engaged last week.
“It's fast but they're totally in
love and both really committed,” said a friend of the couple.
In
a Facebook post Graham alluded to his upcoming nuptials: “So
happy with this new chapter unfolding.”
Other celebrities expected to tie the
knot in New York include Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon,
Glee
guest star Cheyenne Jackson, and How
I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris.
